What is a Slab Leak?

Concrete slabs encase and protect a vast network of piping networks (or slab plumbing) that connect your home to the city water distribution and sewage lines.  Depending on the age of your home, these pipes could be made of cast iron, galvanized steel, or copper.



When these pipes burst or rupture, they will begin to leak and seep into the concrete.  As concrete is a porous material, water can begin to spread throughout the slabbing and never evaporate, which could lead to a list of hazards.

Warning Signs You Need Slab Leak Repair

Damp carpets or warped hardwood floors: As lost water continues to collect along your floor, your carpets and hardwood floors could show signs of damage

Mold or mildew smells: Resting water is the perfect place for mold and mildew to grow, causing a major health hazard in your home

Hot areas of your floor: Warm spots in your floor could indicate the affected area

Sharp drops in water pressure: As water continues to be lost in the leakage, less water can make it to your appliances and fixtures, causing a sharp and continuous drop in water pressure
